Ridge Patrol

When I first moved out here on the ridge, me and Hubby had the whole place to ourselves. I mean, there was NOBODY within a mile each way. It was great. Then came the neighbors. They moved in about 3 years ago. They bought the land next to us. Still there is at least an acre in between us. Oh, and trees, so it's not like they are setting in our laps. But, when you are use to not having anyone around, it's an adjustment.  What if  I would want to sunbath naked?(A another story for another time.LOL)What if I'm in the only bathroom and Hubby has to "go outside?"  You laugh, but it's something that you have to adjust to. lol

Anyway, the neighbor is not a bad guy. He seems to really like his kids because he brought 4 out of 5 with him. When I say kids, I mean 30 some year old adults that had to have their own houses(trailers) that he bought. Now, there is noting wrong with trailers. But when you get a bunch of them in a small area, it begins to look like a trailer park. Once again, nothing wrong with that. You just have to remember, we were use to NOBODY being out here. Adjustments. At first I was really against them moving out here. I even tried to talk them out of it.lol. But now that they have been here for a few years, I guess it could be a lot worse.

Neighbor has been retired for a few years now. I think he is bored. He will take a trip around the ridge at least 3 times a day. Just to look at things. Sometimes he will ride his 4 wheeler, sometimes he drives his truck. Whatever he takes, he does it VERY slowly. lol.  Anyway, me and Hubby has got to where we call him the Ridge Patrol. He has called when we had a cow out. He has called when someone has dropped off a dog. He has even called when there was a pretty rainbow in the sky.  At first I thought of him as nosey. Now I think of him as safety. If anything happens, he will know about it. lol. It's nice to know that someone is looking out for you.

So until next time,

Small Farm Girl, Ridge Patrol Supporter.
