Just Checking In

Hi guys! I know I haven't posted on here for a while. We are soooooo busy! We're trying to get into our new house. Well, at least into the walk-in basement. Our old house won't last another winter.(At least I don't think so. lol) We have been working into the late hours of the night. We are almost there.

This cool weather has been so nice. I could live like this forever. Ok, maybe not forever, I've got to have garden. lol. I just love the way the crisp morning feels. I also love the smell. Have you know noticed the smell of fall? It's the smell of leaves and mud. And then, when I smell wood smoke? Be still my heart! I know, I'm weird. lol.

Well guys, sorry this is so short. But, I've got a house to move into.

So until next time,

Small Farm Girl, house builder.

P.S. Pictures of the house to come soon!

No wonder you are so busy! You've got plenty to do right now. :o) I'm so excited for you!

I'm like you, I love a cool morning and night, but warm days. This sweltering 24 hours a day we did all summer was no fun.

Looking forward to hearing of all your moving-in adventures!

You're not alone. I know that smell, and I'm missing it right now. The rain has started here in the Pacific Northwest, and it refuses to let go. Now the heat is returning, so it's muggy day and night. The last of the tomatoes are blushing red, for which I am grateful, but my lettuce seeds won't sprout if this keeps up.

Where's the crisp air? Where's the wind at night that clears out the trees and the sky? I am so ready for piping hot cider, pumpkin carving, and the return of wool.

I love the smell too. And those colorful and fallen leaves! Used to experience fall when I travelled. Over here it's ok if you love the sun, but some days are so hot and humid you wanna stay under the tree all day long.

All the best and enjoy that new house
