Now I have some friends that I can sit and talk to,(Phelan is one of those.) so I'm not TOO anti-social, but most times, when I'm around people, I can't wait until I can get home and just say AAAAHHHHH. I go to my bedroom, by myself, and just veg. I'll read or watch t.v.(yes we have a t.v. in our bedroom.), or sometimes just catch up on reading the blogs that I follow. I need those alone times so that I can recharge my batteries.
I do know people who have to constantly have other people around them. Or if they don't have people around them, they are on their phones texting people. They can't stand being by themselves. I feel sorry for these type of people. I don't think that they really know themselves if they haven't been alone with themselves. Are they afraid of what they'll find? Are they afraid of the person that they are. Possibly.
Now, I know there isn't really anything I can do about these people. I can't change them. I can only change me and the way I interact with them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mean to people. I don't HATE people. I actually like SOME people. hehehehe. There are even times when I WANT to be around people. But,(and you knew this was coming.) I can only handle so much at one time.
So on that note, I'm thinking about a nice little house back in the woods where I can be by myself. Okay, Hubby is aloud to visit. :0) I'll live back there were the only things that know where I am will be the deer and the birds. I'll have my own little garden, my own little porch that I can sit and watch the trees, and my own little room where I can paint my pictures. Oh, I can see it now.......
So until next time,
Small Farm Girl, hermit.

I know what you mean, the more I am around the general public the less sociable I feel. I am comfortable in my own skin and I enjoy my own company. I am an absolute joy to be with. HAHA!
You know me, I'm a hermit, I like a few people but for the most part would rather be alone( with family) I love my animals, they are honest and tell no lies, can't say the same of people.
Blessings,

Small Farm Girl,
You're not the only one who feels this way :-) I so enjoy quiet time, to be alone or with hubby in our home far away from the major population. Don't get me wrong, I have friends, and those friends are like me....and you :-)
Enjoy your quiet time
I'll lend you my sign ~ it says
"I live in my own little world ...
but it's okay I like it there ! " :)))
Looks like most of us are hermits by choice doesn't it? I've come to a point now that if I leave the house its because I've been putting it off so long the dang library books came due. Speaking of which... I have to go again tomorrow. How did two weeks go by so fast?
Oh and btw I hate word verification... I'm only doing this cause its you! hehehe
Some days I know how Spock must have felt on the human star ship.
Everyone needs a break.. I wonder if people realize the change in behavior and interaction with others that has taken place since the 80s. Im going to sound old when I say probably not as many were just born in the 80s and this is just the norm for them. But really Im not that old, really. Generation X.
It's not that I choose to hate people, they make me do it.
I always tell the wife besides her and the kids, I really don't need any other human interaction. It's nothing but a distraction that causes problems.
Swamp Dog...That's what I'm talking about!!! I bet you are a joy to be with!!! hehehehe
Kelle...We have talked about this many times. I'm so much like you on this aspect!
Sandy...Oh I DO enjoy my quiet time!!! A LOT!
Willow...I DO need a sign like that!!! I just might make me one!
Sci...I'm glad I wrote this so you wouldn't forget your library books. hehehe. Oh, and I'm working on the word verification thingy. (Just for you. :0) )
Sunnybrook...Good one!!! I never thought of it that way, but I will now! lol
Kellie from Indy...Generation X'er right here too! And, I completely understand what your saying!
MDR...Yay! It's the people that make me do it!!! hehehehe
My family has a funny saying: I am not anti-social, I just don't like people.
I have few friends and they are all like me. My family is my friends and that is all I really need. I broke my arm this spring and was unable to drive for 8 weeks. Therefore, I didn't leave my farm but a few times in those weeks and didn't miss it. When I did finally get back out into the shopping malls the experience was overwhelming.
I will just stay on my farm and only go out when absolutely necessary.
From one hermit to another, loving the country life in Indiana.
People drive me crazy! Poppy and I thought we had built so far back in the woods that no one would bother us. Now after 24 years the dirt path looks like a football field and 10 families live around us! I never call or bother the neighbors but they sure stay interested in all our affairs! Nothing depresses me like a trip to walmart! Thanks for your post!!
Hahahaha...I thought I was the only one willing to confess that I generally like dogs more than people. :-)
Hahaha ..... I was beginning to think it's me "getting older"... But I see it isn't just me?....
