Snake Update.

Just a small update about the snake on the fence.

It DID rain after we put the snake on the fence. In fact, it rained 3 1/2 inches that week that we put it on the fence. Coincidence? Never! I'm blaming the snake. hehehehe

So if you need rain, and I know a lot of you do, find a snake, kill it, and hang it on a fence. Hey, I'm just saying.......

So until next time,

Small Farm Girl, rain lover.

I've never heard that before but I find it very interesting. I will refer to your blog if someone sees me hanging snakes on my fence!!

Now that I want to find a snake.....I won't be able to. I'll do anything for rain at this point.

We had rain last week as well. Blessed rain! I actually sat outside and let it fall on me until I was soaked, I missed it so. It's been one tough year for many of us for sure. Stay wet!

the snake on the fence story came from the dust bowl/ depression days. i was reading a book about the great depression and the dust bowl and there were photos of farmers who had rows and rows of snakes on the fences hoping for rain. back then they also tried dynamite explosions and all kinds of "medicine man" sorta things to bring rain on. those were some really sad days and i hope we are not having to relive those days again in this country, but things sure look like it. n.e.mississippi is hot as hell, and humid enough to wear the air, but we are getting a little bit of rain evrey few days or so. i am using those rain days to rest up cause when it dont rain i am out there watering and tending the gardens in this awful heat.

Hmm, well since we`re rather fond of most snakes, maybe we`ll have to find one that`s already dead and put it over the fence??
