These cool days are WONDERFUL!!!!!! I want to get outside and do everything! I want to work in the garden.(Too bad it's all done.) I want to milk the goat 5 times a day. (Too bad I'm drying her up.) I want to gather the eggs.(Too bad we moved our chickens down to Hubby's dad's house.) I want to play with baby goats.(Too bad we won't have any for a few more months.) I want to pick blackberries. (Too bad they are all gone.) I want to plant flowers. (Too bad it's too late.)
Why is it that I want to do summer things in the fall? I guess I'll just go and make some soup.
So until next time,
Small Farm Girl, confused yet energized.

Yep, the cool weather comes and we are energized! Here in Texas, we are so thankful for the relief we've had the past couple of days with the cooler weather. I loved the low 90's yesterday! I especially loved not having to wake up at 5:30am to 80 degree heat!
I was the same way yesterday. I am so used to hibernating in the house because of the heat that yesterday I caught myself standing at the back door while it was open and letting the cool breeze hit me, wondering why I am not out there just burning it up.
fall is a good time for pruning trees, planning next years garden, processing the garden's bounty, planting bulbs and putting in some types of perennials to overwinter. still lots to do, just not summer stuff. :)
LOVE fall. HATE summer. There... I said it. :)
Enjoy your days!
You better lay off the Red Bull. hehe
Looks like you've missed the boat all the way around! Soup sounds great. chilly evening for a nice home made soup!! ...debbie
It has to be this weird swing in our temperatures that happened this weekend! Its thrown me off too. All I want to do is throw on a big pot of chili and light a fire in the fireplace.
LOL! You hit the nail on the head with that one - I feel the same way :-)
Aww I feel ya. Fall always get's me charged up. I'm in the kitchen freezing, preserving the abundance of summer as well as baking for the most of my days. Time to take the apron off and do some fall N.E hiking (once colors come out) Cooler ROCK!

Hey we still have plenty to do here in MT, come on up and we'll put you to work! We're still harvesting raspberries, beans, tomatoes( they are actually just begining to ripen) and we have all our root crops to dig and get moved into the cellar, then clean up begins. We've frosted a bit, but not a total kill. Oh BTW we have bushels and bushels of aples to get harvested and make sauce, butter, jelly and my absolute favorite, cider( reg., hard and vinegar) So feel free to share some of your energy*wink*
Blessing and HUGS,
Kelle
Too funny! Come on over and help me in the garden all is still going strong here...LOL
