It Never Fails

I had an extra day off of work this week. And since it was raining outside( imagine that), I decided to clean my house. So I cleaned, and I cleaned, and I cleaned. It looks so nice and CLEAN! And do you know what happened? Nobody came to see me. NOBODY! I wanted at least someone to see that it was clean. Every time I get company my house is a total disaster. EVEY TIME! There will be every glass that I own in the sink. Dirty pots and pans on the counter. Mail falling off of the table. And clean, folded clothes, that I haven't put away yet, on the pool table.( At least they are folded.)

And, it's usually not just one person that sees it dirty. It's like someone decided to start a parade outside and didn't tell me that my house was on the route. People that I haven't seen in years will some how decide that THAT is the time to come and see me.

So I have decided, if I want to be left alone, I should keep my house clean. If I want company. Mess it up. It makes since.

So until next time,

Small Farm Girl, visitorless.

you are so right! And usually it the people who will gossip about it too. But lukily I really dont care about them all that much. Take photos and when they do come over show them that yes your house was tidy and clean and now its just lived in.

We had a friend come by this weekend and she ended up using the master bathroom without us knowing. She came out and asked us how in the world did we shower in there. I asked what was the matter and she said that she could not handle chicks in her bathroom.
See, our bathroom is the only place we have to put day old chicks right out of the incubator. It is big enough that we have totes lined up with heat lamps in them. They don't stink because we clean them every other day. I don't see a problem with it so I told her next time you can go home to use the bathroom.

I know EXACTLY what you mean! Thankfully, I have finally gotten to the point that I really don't care. My home is lived in and my family is happy. I keep things as clean as I can, but I no longer worry about everything being perfect.

I also know exactly what you mean. Like I always say, "I hope you came to see me and not my house".

I know exactly how you feel! I've been letting my kitchen go recently because we have no overhead lights at the moment in that part of the house and it's very difficult to get anything clean when all you have is a table top lamp on your counter.

Well of course my mother in law comes over on Monday and cleans the kitchen because she was bored. Most people watch TV.

LOL...works for me every time LOL...but at least you know the house is basically clean...just has that "lived in" look about it...I always tell everyone..."if you come to see me...come anytime...if you come to see my house...give me at least two weeks notice"!!!! LOL...have a great day...hugs from Lexington

Fun an true post!

I just hand out spray cleaner and rags at the door and tell them if they find something not to their liking to feel free and clean!!!! LOL (not really but wouldn't that be fun?)

Yup, happens every time! Just let your house look like a pigsty and see how many people show up!!

Milk replacer sacks stacked up with bottles and nipples all over the kitchen. I think if our kitchen wasn't always a train wreck with calf items, vistors would question what happen. We don't think it is messy just functional.
