Help!!!!

It's been a really busy weekend. We FINALLY got to plant our garden. It had quit raining for a total of 3 days! We tilled and planted all in one day. The back of my legs are so sore!!!!!! lol. As I was bending over and planting the onions,(I know, a little late) Hubby started laughing.

"What's so funny?" I asked
.
He told me that if you are ever lost in the wood, and you come upon a woman planting the garden, you can always tell where the road is.  Her butt will always be pointing towards it. WHAT?

I thought he just made that up since my, "cough", plumb bottom was pointing towards the road. That was until we had to go into town and I noticed that EVERY time there was a lady planting the garden her bottom was pointed towards the road! What the heck!!!!!! LOL!!! Ladies, next time you plant your garden, notice which way you point your bottom. Hubby was right! (Don't tell him I said that.)

Anyway, yesterday I went to my parents house to wash my "good clothes." Our water is not real good at getting clothes clean. It comes out red. I don't know if it's iron or clay. Either way, it doesn't work really good on our clothes. So, as I am washing my clothes, me and Mom will usually sit on her porch and swing. It was great. The sun was out. The breeze was blowing. It was just perfect. As we were sitting there, I took my shoes off to let them have a little sun. Well, a little sun turned into a lot of sun. So now I have sun poisoning on  the top of my feet. THEY ITCH LIKE CRAZY!!!!!!!!! I have had poison ivy not itch this bad. If I didn't need my feet to walk, I would scratch them off. If truth be told, I'm still thinking about it.

So I am asking, no, begging you for home remedies to help stop the itching. Please blogger buddies! Please help a poor friend out!!

So until next time,

Small Farm Girl, miserable.

I've always had success with a baking soda bath for sunburn (a cup or two in a warm bath). You could try a warm footbath with baking soda... Maybe a 1/4 cup or so?

Maybe some chamomile tea might help. I'd just cool it and put either the teabags on the feet or use a washcloth wrung out. It might help with any swelling too.

And the reason women's butts are always facing the road is obvious, we dont want to show off the ladies to every passing car or person LOL.

Benadryl, works great. The antihistamine stops the itching.

Agree with Rae and Denise, however I am not allergic to poison ivy so have not had to use any of it on myself. But it seems to work on Husband.

Thanks guys for the comments. So far witch hazel seems to work pretty good. But, I have to use it a lot. But that's better than itching.

Coconut oil with a few drops over lavender and tea tree oil. Lavender kills the burn and both will prevent infection. Coconut oil is great for your skin too. I have fair skin and have had a lot of sunburns and have found this to work the best!
Lol @ hineys to the road!!

Glad you were able to get your garden planted while it was sunny out!! This is our second day of sunshine and it is so nice to enjoy it!

So, so funny! Witch Hazel works and so does Benedryl. There's some other thing, Cortaid, or something like that that worked in the past for us. Stay covered when working out. I always get attacked by something too. Take care and good luck. Debi

A couple of remedies to try - teabags on the feet, yogurt (just right on the burn) or of course, aloe. Hope they feel better soon!

we keep several aloe plants around here so we can take if fresh when the need arises.
The first time I moved out to a place with a full kitchen mom gave me an aloe plant. Some faith she has in my cooking talent.
