Time?

Okay, I've been off work now for a couple weeks.....At what point am I suppose to have extra time to do the things that I have always wanted to do? Who said that? lol!!!!!I've been busier now than when I was at work! If I went back to work now, it would be like taking a vacation! Oh well, this is what I wanted, and I'm loving every minute of it.

We have been working on the house and getting more if it done. And then, since we have been working on the house, I haven't had time to "clean" the house. (Who knew doing drywall caused soooo much dust?!) It's a mess!

We also have been trying to get the auction off the ground. I'm having second thoughts about it. It's a REALLY great opportunity to make some money but, I was wanting a more simple life. This is not going to make my life more simple. I will wake up in the middle of the night and think, "What am I doing?! I want out!" But, when the mornings come around my thinking slowly comes around into thinking that maybe it will be ok. I don't know. I'll just have to feel it out some more.

We also have taken some cattle to the sale. Cattle prices are UP! Good for us cattle owners, not good for the consumer. That's why we eat our own beef. It's soooo much cheaper. And since our cattle are only grass fed, they are a lot healthier. Anyway, we had a time taking the cattle off to the market. We only brought 4, 1 for the butcher, 3 for the market. The three going to the market were WILD! We don't mess with our cattle much. We don't feed them everyday, so they don't have much contact with us. They wanted to hurt someone!  I kept yelling at hubby to not get hurt, I needed his retirement. hehehehe. That's true love right there. LOL  When all was said and done, I was VERY glad when they were unloaded from the stock trailer and we drove away.  Now I wont have to do that again for a least another year.  YEA! Plus we will have enough meat to last us until our grandchildren have grandchildren. Well, maybe not that much, but we will have a bunch.

Well, I have to get to work(at home).

So until next time,

Small Farm Girl, more busy.

That is why I have a job, to relax. My five days at work is like a vacation from all the work done on the weekend.
Not a bad job hu, two on, five off.

I *told* you you would be wondering how you ever had time for a "real" job! LOL!!
We have several friends in the cattle business and they have commented too about the prices being up. Good for the cattle producers, they have been taken advantage of for too long!

everything that we consume is up and with rising prices every day that slips by. getting ready to start my seeds...and hoping there will be no late freeze when spring rolls around. for now it is still rainy and muddy. last week i grabbed every can in the sheds and filled them with gasoline..i am hoping i have enough to get us through spring and most of the summer..otherwise, everything will have to just grow up around our armpits around here. wish i had some goats or cattle to munch on the grass but if i did i would have to invest in better fencing first..seems we are darned if we do and darned if we dont. still, it is good to think about these things and sometimes answers to our problems and our prayers come along.

You sound just like my Sweet Thing. She says I am worth more dead than alive, but she is not ready for me to go just yet. But she says this with a funny little sparkle in her eye, really makes me wonder sometimes. HA!
