Luckily, the neighbor was there to help.
Yep, snapped it right off. Believe it or not, this is the fourth time that this has happened. Don't ask me why. I leave that stuff up to Hubby.
Hubby was mowing around our pond when it happened. Hey, does anyone know how to get rid of lilly pads? We have a "few." lol
We have new additions to the farm. Can you guess?
Yep, rabbits! We have two does and one buck. Which will equal five million rabbits! LOL! We have no names for them yet. Here is the white doe.
Here is the brown doe. Any name suggestions?
So until next time,
Small Farm Girl, rabbit owner.

yay rabbits! I keep trying to convince my hubby we could raise rabbits...he's not so keen on it though!
Rabbits are very easy to raise. They take little space and they give you "fertilizer" for your garden. lol
The picture of the pond looks beautiful even if the lily pads are a nuisance!
Congrats on the added feed eaters. Without the use of harsh chemicals the only way to rid the pond of the pads is old fashioned cut and pull. They do have a underwater weed eater of sorts but it is pricy.
Love the "Loose Wheel" tune
hahahaha
Try a grappling hook on the lily pads, throw it out and drag it in. Its hard work, its what we used to do to dredge to local fishing pond.
half
How about Snow White and Rose Red for the girls and of course Prince Charming for the boy LOL.
Aww that sucks about your tractor. Hope it can get fixed. Bunnies are cute. How about Thelma and Lorretta? Good luck on the lilypads.
RABBIT STEW???!!! OH NO!!! I do like fried rabbit. But don't think I could eat them if I bred them. Geez!! White one named Alice, and the Brown is named Macey....debbie
We keep going back and forth about the whole rabbit issue...we can't get rabbit around here to sample to see if we like it enough to off the fuzzy little creatures, but at the same time the wild ones eat my garden...ah those rascally little rabbits.
City Sister, tame rabbits taste better than the wild rabbits. At least, I think so. They have a sweet tasting meat. And, it better for you than chicken!
Ha! Ah you clever woman you, that Loose Wheel line was classic! Cute bunnies. We had some a few years ago but Miss started getting lax on her care of them and Feral decided if she wasn`t going to take care of them Mama wasn`t either, so we sold them.
You ain't right... ;-)
I would love to get some rabbits, as they are both cute and delicious, but I keep telling myself one thing at a time. Are these rabbits specifically of a meat variety? Did you make all of the cages yourself? I am trying to decide how I would have my bunny operation and what type of cages to use, yours looks pretty spiffy. I just got done building a chicken coop and rabbit hutches seem like a good opportunity to put my new found building skills to use
vcassie88.... We didn't make THIS cage, but we have made others. Rabbits are VERY easy to raise. I,personally, wouldn't worry about the breed of rabbit. As long as they are a bigger rabbit. No dwarfs. hehehe. But if you have to have "breeds" the white one is a New Zealand White. The brown one is.....well, brown. lol.
Heee! Heee! love you humor!*wink* Sorry about the tractor problems, I always leave all of the type of stuff for Mike to deal with too.:o)
Hey love the rabbits, you should have interesting bunnies. I just can't bring myself to kill a rabbit and I know we'd end up with 50 million, so best not to even get them.
I don't have a clue about getting rid of lily pads, but you'd sure need a bunch of frogs to fill each one*wink* Think of all the froggie voices singing you to sleep, LOL!!!!!
River is so high, but I don't think we'll flood. It's finally hot here in MT, yesterday was 100F and today 94F, so far, everything is growing right before our eyes, weeds included*sigh*.
Hey just had to share with you, when I started loosing weight last summer, then I gained about half back over the winter anyway I've dropped from a size 20+ to a 16 and they are loose, but a 14 is a bit snug yet, so I guess I'm a size 15 Huh? It feels great and I treated myself to some new pants and shirts for summer. :o)
Blessings for your 4th,
Kelle
Kelle, we do have a LOT of froggie voices singing us to sleep. It's kind of nice. lol. I've been praying about you guys with the river. I hope it doesn't get to high. Congrats on the weight loss!!!! I'm sooooooo jealous!!!! heheehe. I have to get your secret. :)
Not really a secret, just not eating much, cut out all sugar and exercising and walking each day. I do 50 situps, 25 leg lifts, 25 ladies push ups and walk a mile or alittle more a day at a fast pace. I also have weights for toning up the flab*wink* It feels great! Another big key(for me anyway)is that this time I'm doing it for ME, not because I want to please someone else, I am simply tired of being overweight and not feeling good about myself. :o)
River update, it is flooding the lower end of our pasture, but I really don't thing it will get anywhere near the house, although I could be wrong. Please keep praying, it's my prayer for the run off to finish quickly so we can breath again. *sigh* Such an odd year and to think I was actually looking forward to 2011, maybe I'll reserve my thoughts for 2012, LOL!!!
