I Quit!

I think I'm going to quit my job. Why not? I'm self employed. It would be easy. According to the government, if I'm poor, I can get my food paid for. I can get my house paid for. I can get heat and electric paid for. I can get health care paid for. I can even get a cell phone paid for. I wouldn't have to pay taxes either. Now you tell me, why would you want to work?

Small Farm Girl, poor person.

P.S. I'm not going to quit my job.(yet lol)

Yanno, I called about a few things after 6 monts of the layoff. We could'nt get food stamps because Lisa works. IF we gave up the car, we had a chance.Yea..that would work great since the closest bus stop is about 2 miles away. No matter what they tell people, the system isn't set up to help those who really need it, just for those who take advantage and want a free ride.

I'd like to be the family that our family will be supporting - they'll live better than we do!

I was reading a book today wherein a person living under Chairman Mao's regime (y'know, living in that good ol' "redistributing the wealth" sort of government) had rations cut to 2 servings of 2 OUNCES of rice a day per person during a time when his experimental (read Insane) agricultural programs failed. And it wasn't even all rice, only the privileged actually got rice, the lower classes got their GENEROUS TWO OUNCE PORTIONS of the lowest grade mix of barley, corn, and rice. The people had to resort to grinding up corncobs to a dusty powder to make into a kind of slurry to fill their stomachs, so of course he OUTLAWED them doing that! That's the glorious society that comes of this whole "redistributing the wealth" hypocrisy. The only one sitting around scratching his belly was Chairman Mao. Y'know...the guy whose pic was on Obama's christmas tree..(oops) :)

Makes for a lazy country! I have family like this and it makes me so angry. Especially when me and my family work so hard everyday. We will continue though I will not teach my children it is o.k. to be lazy and freeload. If you work hard the things you get from that hard work mean so much more. Have a good day Rebekah

Yes a lazy country is what we've become, sadly enough*sigh*
I agree SFG and you well know, we think outside the box( for better or worse*wink*) Our outside the box thinking is, to starve the beast, work less, make less, spend less and pay less taxes. That seems to be the ONLY peaceful option we have to get their attention! Of course there is a not so peacful way too but..... should be a last resort.

From the other end of the spectrum, retirement is heaven. :)

I can't quit, have too many horses to care for but the way things are going I'm thinking I might just have to quit anyway. Hope things turn around soon.
